Wagga residents Geoff and Sharyon Bird decided that more people than the visitors who pass through should benefit from their extensive Christmas light display.
The couple have been lighting their house up with Christmas cheer for five years but once their residence became a talking point, Mrs Bird decided to use the fame for fortune.
They started taking donations to give to PCYC three years ago and have raised more than $1000 to date.
“We thought it would be nice to put up a couple of lights,” Mrs Bird said.
“By the third year, because we had a lot of people coming around, we thought why not raise some money?”
Donations are collected via a bucket chained to a tree, which is closely monitored by Mrs Bird and her husband.
Mrs Bird said she chose PCYC as the beneficiary because she wanted to help reduce youth issues in the city.
The Bird residence also hastoys for children to play with andwhile the parents walk through the garden and around the water featureand festivewooden cut-outs.
