There have been plenty of good catches around the Fleurieu Peninsula over the last week, with rumour that Tuna have been hauled aboard at The Pages islands area, between the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island.
PORT NOARLUNGA JETTY
There havebeen kilo-sized salmon caught along the jetty from a small school coming inside the reef during last week’s high-tide periods. There has been sand whiting and tommies on offer at the beginning of the jetty.
RAPID BAY JETTY
The jetty is still a top spot for tommies, with best catches had during early morning sessions. Gar activity has been good from the weed patches and reports suggest there are plenty of big leather jackets hungry around the jetty pylons.
SECOND VALLEY JETTY
This location has been on the money for squid with plenty of small to medium sized ones to go around. A fresh tommie under a float rig has worked a treat and from the pathway rocks there have been mullet and tommies caught in good numbers.
A school of salmon trout has been located along the beach during the last week and small lures have been best for hook ups with the bigger trout from the school. From the rocks there have been mullet, plenty of pest rock cod caught and the odd snook.
There has been boat ramp rumour this week that tuna have been caught in this area. Also catches of gummy sharks and big salmon from both inner/outer reef structures and trolling on the way home snook have been added to catches.
The ‘hot spot’ for whiting along the coast this week with drops out about kilometre working well for boaties. Also near the weed line there have been gar and big tommies. Anglers have had good catches of squid by drifting over the weed patches close in.
Has the only mulloway report from the Murray system this week and boaties have had to work hard for some near three kilo hook ups with school mulloway from both bait and trolling. Near the Murray Mouth there were salmon trout and mullet caught, along with a few bream near the A frame homes .
