More than $35 million will be provided to establish the new Hurlstone Agricultural High School at the University of Western Sydney’s Hawkesbury campus while more than $30 million be spent on a new education precinct at Glenfield.

The precinct would include an upgrade of the current Hurlstone Agricultural High School facilities (which will be renamed) and three schools for ‘‘specific purposes’’, as well as the reservation of land for a new primary school.

An extra 360 selective enrolment places will also available at the rebranded high school.

More than $100 million will be spent on 180 new classrooms and schools in south-west Sydney including: William Stimson Public School (Wetherill Park); Cecil Hills Public School; Prestons Public School; Oran Park and Gledswood Hills.

‘‘We will have five schools on that site so it makes sense to develop (housing) around it,’’ Education Minister Adrian Piccoli said.
