A TRAINING initiative addressing Warrnambool’sskills shortage in aged care has won a national honour.
The collaborationbetween South West TAFE and Lyndoch Living was named as one of three national finalists for theAustralian Training Awards’ Industry Collaboration Award.
Launched in 2014, the Lyndoch Living Aged Care Training Initiative provides on-site training at the facility,integratingstudents into day-to-day operations with residents and their families.The project won the Victorian title and was one of three finalists shortlisted from eight state and territory winners in the prestigious awards.
South West TAFE CEO Mark Fidge said the institute was committedto working with industriesto address local needs.
He said the finalist nomination showedthe collaboration had made a real difference in Warrnambool’scommunity.
