It was expected that the move into the new $72.8 million Parkes Hospital would take place tomorrow.
A special announcement was to have been made in Friday’s edition explaining to local residents when they should present themselves to the new hospital, rather than the old one.
But it is understood there were still some checks to be made before the final date could be confirmed.
It was then expected the decision would be announced in today’s edition, but again, there were some final, minor matters which had to be dealt with.
Health Service officials were determined that everything would be completely signed off before any move would take place.
Further testing is expected today and if all goes to plan, the big move could take place tomorrow.
Already signs have been erected around town indicating that Tuesday would be the big day!
We’ll have to wait and see.
