Windsor Police are conducting inquiries after a ‘molotov cocktail’ was located by National Parks and Wildlife Service Officers in long grass in Mitchell Park, Mitchell Park Road Cattai on Friday.
Police believe atstage the device was thrown into the parkduringextreme heat conditions where temperatures soared past 40 degrees.
The cocktail had been lit and thrown into long grass within the park, causing a small area to catch alight, but fortunately self extinguish.
The bottle the flammable liquid was in, did not break and has been handed into Windsor Police by the NPWS officers where it will undergo forensic testing.
